The Groovy Uncle Podcast

Glenn Prangnell takes a look at the creative output of a highly regarded, prolific bunch of musicians based in the Medway Towns, England.

Groovy Uncle is a recording project that began in 2010 with the release of their first single, 'Monkey Trousers'. With the help of a 'revolving door' of many talented musicians and artists, songwriter Glenn and his merry band went on to record 5 singles and 9 albums, releasing music almost on a yearly basis, up until 2021. In this series of podcasts, Glenn reveals the stories behind the songs, reminisces about some of the recording sessions, plays some early demos and, in the 'It's What You Do' interviews, he catches up with some of the people who have been involved in the Groovy Uncle project over the years.

It's What You Do

I thought it was about time I introduced you to some of the musicians and artists who have played a crucial part in helping me create the Groovy Uncle sound.

So, every Wednesday evening, I'll be uploading a new feature called, 'It's What You Do', in which I'll be chatting to some these fine women and men about their interesting and creative lives, before during and after their Groovy Uncle experience. First in the hot seat in Episode 20 is bass player Nick Rice.
