My guest this week is a singer/songwriter who will already be familiar to many a Medway gig go-er, as she is a musician who regularly delights local audiences with her distinctive voice and trusted ukelele. Her music is very much rooted in her home town and the subject matter of her songs ranges from the seasons and the elements, to madness and the death of a female lion tamer. She has guested on recordings of other Medway artists including Groovy Uncle, Stuart Turner and the Flat Earth Society, These Guilty Men and most recently, The Senior Service. She has just completed work on her new 5-track EP, 'Home Town' which includes some instrumental contributions from her son, James and is also a speech and language therapist and organiser of the Mindful Music Sessions. Let's meet Rachel Lowrie! Presented by Glenn Prangnell.
Music:
Stuart Turner and the Flat Earth Society - 'Helen'
Rachel Lowrie - 'The Lion Queen', 'Winter Song', 'Home Town', 'Still Water', 'Wayside Annie', 'Mother Medway'
